Vidya Balan who is gearing up for her upcoming film ‘Tumhari Sulu’ was present at the launch of ‘& Prive’ an English channel for nuance films. During media interaction, the actress said she wants to work with Gulzar Sahab and Woody Allen.
Since a lot of actors are moving abroad and performing well in foreign cinema, Vidya was asked if given the chance who would she like to work with, she said, “In Indian film industry I would love to work with Gulzar Sahab, I have been asked him for the opportunity. I have gone as far as to say, at least direct and ad film with me, I really want to get that experience of working with him. And in Hollywood, I think it would have to be Woody Allen, I can ready to lose a limb or two but I would love to get the chance to work with director Woody Allen. Let’s see if I ever get the chance to do it.”
When asked if today scripts are better and more layers that films earlier, Vidya agreed and said, “I think that the ratio of good scripts has improved in the past few years. When we did ‘Ishqiya’ and when I first heard the script I had not heard or read anything like that before. It was the only script that appealed to me at that time. Over the years now you have the option between 2 – 3 films at a given point of time to choose. So I think it is a better ratio but we have a long way to go. It is good to see that people are investing more time in writing.
A few years ago there was no such thing as script development people were not interested in making that effort, but today they are. Yes, we do have a long way to go but we are in a better place than where we were.”
Vidya will be seen next in ‘Tumhari Sulu’ directed by Suresh Triveni, costarring Neha Dhupia and Manav Kaul.
Tumhari Sulu is a comical slice-of-life film directed by adman Suresh Triveni for youth and families. Vidya Balan essays the role of a beautiful, enthusiastic and happy-go-lucky Mumbai housewife whose routine life changes when she unexpectedly lands herself with the exciting job of a night RJ (radio jockey) on a leading radio station.
