Turns out, celebrated directors from our industry also have a knack for acting and have gone ahead and flaunted it in various projects.

1. Farah Khan

Before being a director, Farah Khan has also been a choreographer. She also had a cameo in her own directorial, Om Shanti Om, which was a massive hit. She then starred in an individual project opposite to Boman Irani titled ‘Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi’.

2. Karan Johar

Apart from some cameos in the films like Om Shanti Om, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Luck By Chance. Karan Johar donned the hat of a full-time actor in Anurag Kashyap’s film Bombay Velvet as he played the role of Khambatta, the main antagonist.

3. Kunal Kohli

After directing smashing hits like Mujhse Dosti Karoge!, Hum Tum and Fanaa. Kunal Kohli made his digital debut as an actor in the film ‘Phir Se..’ alongside Jennifer Winget.

Anurag Basu is already a multitalented personality as he is not only a director but also a screenwriter and producer. In his recent feature Ludo, he also was the person behind the cinematography which was visually brilliant in every way. He also played a crucial role in his own film which is revealed at the very end and left people baffled.

5. Anurag Kashyap

He is known for presenting the audience with some really unconventional yet gripping films. Turns out, his roles as an actor are somewhat of the same kind. He turned actor for a shortfilm titled ‘Churri’ with Tisca Chopra and will also feature in the upcoming Netflix film ‘AK vs AK’ with Anil Kapoor. It is going to be a mockumentary.
