Most popularly known as ‘The Nation’s Sweetheart’, Korean singer IU i.e. Lee Ji-eun is one of the most famous idols from the country. Her popularity skyrocketed internationally owing to her wholesome persona and unique music. Her name IU is a combination of the words ‘I’ and ‘You’, which signifies I (her) and You (fans) become one through music.

IU was merely 15 years of age when she made her debut into the k-pop world with ‘Lost and Found’, a mini-album that released in 2008. Soon other albums followed like Growing Up and IU…IM, and so on. However, the one song that was responsible for her national recognition was the song Good Day from her album Real.

The song Good Day became so popular that 9 years later i.e. in 2019, it made the list of Billboard’s ‘100 Greatest K-Pop Songs of the 2010s’. She also ventured into songwriting with tracks like ‘Hold My Hand’, ‘Blueming’, ‘Celebrity’. ‘Black out’ and many others.

She also became a prominent face in the world of K-Drama with her appearance in shows like Dream High, You’re the Best, Lee Soon-shin, Pretty Man, The Producers, Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo, My Mister, Persona, and Hotel Del Luna.
