It has only been a day since the curtain-raiser for upcoming dystopian epic ‘Paurashpur’ got released. It is going to be a web series that will stream on ALT Balaji and Zee5. This is going to be the first fictionalised period drama to ever come out of India in the form of web series. One of the leads of the show, Shilpa Shinde shared a bit about her character from ‘Paurashpur’ on her Instagram account.
She revealed that she will be playing the role of Queen Meerawati in the series. She also included a video snippet on her profile where she could be seen in character, looking extremely fierce as she sits on the throne. She wrote, “A perfect example of ravishing beauty with brains; Queen Meerawati of Paurashpur.” While explaining more about her role in the show, she mentioned, “The King may seem to rule his realm, but it is Queen Meerawati’s wisdom that makes Paurashpur stand as a powerful kingdom.
Enter the world of royalty, gender struggles, and betrayals only in #Paurashpur!”

The makers of ‘Paurashpur’ revealed that an official teaser for the series will release on 6 December 2020. Actors like Milind Soman, Sahil Salathia, Shaheer Sheikh, Annu Kapoor, Anant Joshi, Poulomi Das, Flora Saini and Aditya Lal are also the part of the cast apart from Shilpa.
Directed by Sachinda Vats, the show will stream on both Zee5 and ALT Balaji from 29 December 2020.
