Vaquar Sheikh, Dadasaheb Phalke Award

Mumbai: TV actor Vaquar Sheikh last seen in Qubool Hai is very excited about his new short film Tea Spoon (produced by Kiran Deohans and directed by Aban Deohans). This spooky 16 minute film is already been selected in many international and national festivals like York Short Film Festival, Bollywood New York film festival and California short film festival. We have already won the best short film at the latter. In India we have won best screenplay at the Dadasaheb Phalke Awards. The film has also been selected for the upcoming Bangalore and Goa film festivals as well, awaiting more good news from there as well.

Personally this film has even earned Vaquar Excellence in Performance award in the short film category at the above prestigious national film award.

“It is a matter of great satisfaction that my work has been appreciated a by such an august film body.”

Looking ahead Vaquar who is doing a very successful play “Scam Bam Thankyou Ma’am” will not mind a return to daily TV with a comedy. He has been around the small screen for many years, doing shows such as Chandrakanta and Kusum etc. He has also done south and Punjabi films. What about Bollywood?

“If a good offer comes why not” actor adds at last we congrats the talented actor.
