Actress Gulfam Khan who shared screen space with actress Reema Lagoo in the ongoing popular television show ‘Naamkarann’ says the late actress was her guide and a friend.
“I have known Reemaji from last 9 years, but in the past 8-9 months we had become good friends and she use to guide me too. She was really fond of exploring different cuisines and cooking food. Just few days back she cooked Soda (dry fish) khichdi for me.” shared Gulfam Khan who was shooting with Reema Lagoo hours back of her last breath.
Lagoo passed away on Thursday (18 May) due to cardiac arrest. She is survived by daughter Mrunmayee, who is also an actress and director.
“Mrunmayee will always remind me of reemaji as even if we had 5 minutes of conversation she would discuss her ‘Chintu’ (Mrunmayee) that, was how big her world was. I have habit of getting small trinkets from my travel far and near for my close ones, every time I got her something she use to tell me how her daughter will love one of the things. Just few days back I got her very simple bangles with inlaid stones, she loved them and said she won’t give that to her daughter as she will be wearing them. Her words made me laugh because I knew she would ultimately show it to her daughter which she eventually did. The last day we met (17th of May) we spent almost 6 hours together and She looked so pretty and was very happy that day. She is etched that way in my memory for ever, pretty and happy. I love her and I know she is in a better place now, though the vacuum she has left will always hurt,” Gulfam who earlier worked with Lagoo in ‘Do Hanso Ka Joda’ added in the statement.
Gulfam was spotted in the funeral of late actress and she broke down interacting to media on her friends death.
