Mumbai: Indian Film Dance Directors Association (IFDDA) hosted an event to felicitate the veteran and present day choreographers on the occasion of international Choreographers’ Day. Present at the event were choreographers Ahmed Khan, Ganesh Acharya, Longinus Fernandes, Hemu Sinha, Javed Sanadi, actors Jassi Kaur, Jesse Randhawa and more. IFDDA committee members Pappu Khanna, Rajendra Suvanam and Bhupendra Sayan (Bhupi) and other members welcomed all the choreographers and made sure the arrangements were class apart.
The event began with the Chief Guest of the evening veteran bollywood actor Jonny Lever lighting the diya n praying to God of dance Natraj, along with the other members of the association. The award ceremony started with everyone paying homage to choreographer Jay Borade who passed away a few months back.
The show then had IFDDA committee awarding and felicitating internationally renowned choreographer Sandip Soparrkar and bollywood choreographer Ganesh Acharya with “Award of Appreciation” for their contribution in the field of choreography. Sandip Soparrkar said, “I feel humbled n blessed that IFDDA has recognised my work and I am grateful to all my friends from the choreography world for being here to encourage me.”
The event ended with a grand performance by Drum Cafe who also had a dynamic interactive session with all the choreographers and guests. The choreographers day is of great importance to all the dancers in the world. Awarding and recognising Indian choreographers for their hard work is an attempt of IFDDA for the past 3 years which has been very successful since its inception.
