Mumbai:Banking frauds are increasing day by day, earlier actor Karan Singh Grover faced a banking fraud. While, this time actress Swara Bhaskar suffered an ATM fraud.
Actress Swara Bhaskar is currently shooting in Karjat for the Sooraj Barjatya directed ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Paayo’ starring Salman Khan. Swara plays a central part in this sibling rivalry drama.
Sources close to the actress narrate that, “Swara completed the day’s shooting at ND Studios Karjat and on the way back to her hotel stopped at a well-known shopping arcade called Crystal Plaza in Kharghar. She went into an ATM of her bank to withdraw money, but the ATM was hung and non responsive. Two men hanging around told her it wasn’t working so after waiting 5-7 minutes, and since she had not provided any PIN no. to the ATM, she left.
As soon as she sat in her car she received a message saying Rs.20,0000 has been withdrawn from your account. She went back to the ATM and needless to say, the ATM was no longer hung and the men were nowhere to be seen. It was definitely a planned hack of the ATM. Poor Swara spent the rest of the night lodging a police complaint and speaking to her bank, though she had an early morning shoot and a very crucial scene to can the next morning.”
When contacted the actress confirmed, “Indeed i suffered an ATM fraud. It seems strange in retrospect that the ATM would hang the minute i swiped my card, and two random strangers would appear and start offering helpful insistent advice. But what is scary is that my account or the ATM could be cracked though i did NOT provide any account details or PIN no. We really live in a world where one -knows-not-what-will-be-hacked-by-who! I spent the whole night lodging complaints with the Cyber Crimes cell and the bank, and kept the ever obliging, sweet production team of Rajshri Productions awake with me. Poor guys! I guess i should find solace in the old Hindi adageNazar Hati balaa tali!” She signs off with a sigh..
