Mumbai: Roopa Ganguly (48yrs), who is among known Bengali actress in the industry and mostly recognized her famous ‘Draupadi’ role for B R Chopra’s epic TV series ‘ Mahabharat’ is now a part of Bhartiya Janta Party (BJP). Apart from this Roopa Ganguly has worked for many successful televisions shows and movies.
As per the updates, during a function in Howrah district the actress Roopa Ganguly joined the political party in the presence of senior BJP leader.
If we talk about the achievements made by the actress turned politician then the actress had won the National Film Award in the best playback singer category for the Bengali film ‘Abosheshey’.
While, it seems the BJP government has opened its way for the well known artist. Moving to the past MP Babul Supriyo was a famous singer and Bengali film actor George Baker is one among the list.
