On the first day of the much anticipated visit of the Duke & Duchess of Cambridge, an extravagant Bollywood Gala Dinner was hosted in their honour at The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel.
For the soiree, Kate chose a royal blue floor length gown with a boat neck by her favourite designer Jenny Packham beaded by artisans in India, creating the perfect fusion of the style of her home and the host nation. She paired the ensemble with exquisite Lapiz drop earrings with diamond studded rims by renowned Indian heritage jewellery house, Amrapali Jewels.
On the occasion Tarang Arora, CEO & Creative Director of Amrapali Jewels said, ” Amrapali has always focused on taking the Indian story around the world and I’m happy to say that we have established a strong presence and goodwill in the UK. Our creations have been spotted on several prominent personalities over the years. When it came to India, Amrapali seemed like the most obvious choice to the Duchess seeing the brand’s success in both countries. Her choice of our Lapis & diamond studded drop earrings not only worked well with her outfit but also complemented her skin tone and look beautifully. We’re extremely honoured to have had the opportunity to be a part of her personal wardrobe during her maiden visit to our country”.
Amrapali’s beautiful creations have been sported by eminent personalities from royal families, HNI’s, political delegates and movie stars from around the globe. A strong presence in the United Kingdom with a stand-alone store in Beauchamp Place as well as stocking at Harrods & Selfridges; the jewellery house seemed like the perfect choice for the Duchess during the Royal couple’s maiden tour to India.
