Mumbai-based fashion designer Umair Zafar filed a complaint with the Mumbai Cyber Crime Cell on Tuesday morning alleging that some unknown persons had created a fake profile on Facebook using his photographs and mobile phone number.
According to the written complaint filed by Zafar, he has been getting numerous crank calls and Whats App messages at odd hours which has disturbed him and his family. Zafar has also submitted a complaint to the Senior Police Inspector of the Oshiwara Police Station Shri Naseer Pathan on 29th March, who re-directed him to the Mumbai Cyber Crime Cell.
In relation to this when a media person spoke to Cyber Crime Cell officials who said their officers were looking into the complaint. According to a Cyber Crime source, the police have written to Facebook to get the IP address and other login details of the miscreants.
