Yesterday, Shirish Kunder sent a legal notice to Aneel Neupane for making false and defamatory allegations against him and his short film Kriti.
The 18-minute thriller starring Manoj Bajpayee, Radhika Apte and Neha Sharma crossed over 3 million views( unprecedented numbers for a short film) and recently got embroiled in controversy, with the makers of a short film, BOB, accusing Shirish Kunder of plagiarism.
Refuting any such claim of the film being lifted , Shirish responded to Mr Neupane’ s allegation with a legal notice demanding an apology ,refraining them from making any oral or written comments about the film.
Sources reveal that the makers of BOB are seeking mileage out of the controversy and have vested interests best known to them. Ironically, Kriti has been trending over the social media platform with #KritiSeeksTruth being an extremely popular hashtag.
If that wasn’t all, the film is also gaining enormous support from the public ,with repeat viewership on sites that the film is currently running on.
Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee representing Mr. Shirish Kunder and Muvizz.com states that “The film BOB was removed from YouTube channel last night because of objections from my clients. It is obvious that no case of plagiarism is made out against my clients as was alleged by Mr. Aneel Neupane. Currently my clients film Kriti is being exhibited on Muvizz.com.
We have also explained our legal position to youtube channel and youtube has assured us full cooperation. My clients are fulfilling the requirements of YouTube in the said matter and are hopeful that their film shall be exhibited soon on their esteemed platform.
