From the very talented film director, Joachim Ronning comes a rousing war epic Max Manus which takes you to one of Europe’s most celebrated World War II-era resistance fighters. An explosive, adrenaline-pumping thrill-ride from start to finish, Max Manus is based on a true story. It premiers on &PrivéHD on Friday, November 26th, the premium destination of breath-taking cinema as part of its flagship foreign language movie block ‘Prive World Box Office’. Feel at home, no matter the language for the entire week at 9PM till Thursday.
A story about fighting the communists in Finland, the film shows Max Manus’ return to Norway, currently occupied by the Nazis. He joins the Norwegian resistance movement in their fight against the Germans but is arrested. He manages to escape to Scotland where he receives training before being sent back to Norway to carry out various sabotage missions against the occupational force. As the war becomes more and more brutal, many of Manus’ friends lose their lives in the struggle against the Germans, and he enters into self-blame. Max finally realizes that everybody is a victim of the meaninglessness of war.
The film takes its title from the name of the gutsiest and most colorful movement against the Nazis. The Germans overran Norway in two embarrassingly short months, spawning a collaborationist government that gave the word quisling to the world. Come join the battle against the Nazis and accompany Manus in his journey.
Watch ‘Max Manus’ premiering this Friday, 26th November at 9PM with repeats running all week till next Thursday only on &PrivéHD.
