International superstar Priyanka Chopra is recognized for always taking the road less traveled in all her endeavors both in India and Internationally. In keeping with that spirit, Priyanka’s Production House, Purple Pebble Pictures (PPP) today announced its foray into regional cinema, outlining details for 3 projects that will release in 2016.

This is keeping with Priyanka and PPP’s vision to create a platform for great stories to be told, irrespective of their genre and language. The vision extends to provide a solid platform for new talent not just in acting but also across all other areas including direction, scriptwriting etc.

Apart from the regional film initiatives, PPP will also focus on various of forms of visual entertainment across all platforms including Hindi Cinema, Television content, new-age Digital content, ad films and the like.

Purple Pebble Pictures lineup include films in Bhojpuri, Punjabi and Marathi. These include the following:
· Bam Bam Bol Raha Hai Kashi (Bhojpuri) – Written and directed by Santosh Mishra, this classic love story features Bhojpuri superstar Nirahau and Amrapali Dubey. The film begins shooting this month and will release in the summer of 2016.

· Ventilator (Marathi) – The film is written and directed by Rajesh Mapuskar, the director of Ferrari Ki Sawaari. This ‘Dramedy’ features a sterling ensemble cast that includes veteran Marathi film and theatre actors. The film begins shoot in February 2016 and releases during Ganpati 2016.

· Ek Onkar (Punjabi) – Written by Ambardeep Singh and Directed by Karan Guliani, this film is the coming of age story of a young NRI returning to find his roots. The film stars the leading superstar of Punjabi cinema and starts shoot in March and will release around Gurunanak Jayanti 2016.

Speaking about the regional projects Priyanka Chopra added, “At the end of the day, we are storytellers and that is only enhanced by being able to tell stories in varied languages. Regional cinema in India has such amazing depth and great cinematic talent. It’s been long cherished dream to be able to tell stories in various languages reaching the heartbeat of our country.
