The bond between PEN India LTD and filmmaker Sujoy Ghosh is only getting stronger by the day. While PEN was earlier associated with the renowned filmmaker as producers of the Vidya Balan-starrer hit films Kahaani and Kahaani 2, they are now set to distribute Ghosh’s upcoming film, Badla. The movie, which stars Amitabh Bachchan and Taapsee Pannu in the lead roles, is set to hit the screens on March 8.
PEN India will distribute the film under the banner of PEN MARUDHAR CINE ENTERTAINMENT. For the uninitiated, PEN frontman Jayantilal Gada announced a big distribution merger between PEN India Ltd and Marudhar recently.
Gada cannot contain his happiness when he talks about the strong bond he shares with Ghosh and why he enjoys backing his projects. “Sujoy Ghosh is one of the biggest filmmakers in our country, who is known for helming movies with strong content. We at PEN have always considered content as the prime reason for associating with any project. We are glad that after producing Kahaani and Kahaani 2 that were directed Sujoy, we will be distributing Badla. I’m certain that the film will be as impressive as his earlier works,” says Jayantilal Gada.
Meanwhile, Badla also marks PEN’s third association with Red Chillies Production. Earlier the two collaborated on Chennai Express and Zero.
