Veteran actress Hema Malini attended press conference to interact with media about her upcoming programme, ‘Synergy 2017’, an international cultural festival on Monday in Mumbai. While interacting with media, Hema Malini stated that she doesn’t have the nature to become minister and rule.

Hema Malini is a BJP MP from Mathura constituency, when asked her when is going to become union minister of India, she said, “A lot of people ask me this question but I don’t think I have the nature to become a minister and rule. I am very happy with what I am. I don’t expect all these things and I don’t have that desire. I want to contribute in the field of art and if I become a minister then I have to sit there and people will not able to meet me”

“As an MP, I am trying to do my best work and I am really happy with that. I want to bring change in my Mathura constituency and I will not stay in peace until that doesn’t happen”.

When asked her when she will make her comeback in movies, she said, “I think that phase of my life is over. Even people in parliament ask me whether I am working in films or not. I feel for doing a film, I must get a proper story. I just can’t do any films which come my way. If anything similar to my role in Baghban or anything interesting comes my way then I will definitely work in films.”

“I am an artist first and I always will be but right now I am focusing on this program and I will not be dancing in this programme but I will be presenting it but that doesn’t mean I am going to stop dancing. I want to continue my work in the field of dance and service of people of our country”

Recently, Nirmala Sitharaman appointed as India’s first female defence minister, reacting to her appointment, Hema Malini said, “I know her very well. She is such a lovely and simple lady. She is going to manage our defence ministry, it’s something we all should be proud of because first time something like this is happening in Modi led government and I really salute this matter”.

Hema Malini is trained Bharatnatyam, Kuchpudi and Mohiniyattam dancer, so when asked that nowadays Gharana’s of classical music and dance forms is fading away, to that, Hema Malini said, “I feel it shouldn’t be fade away. There are various forms whether it’s a Kathak or Bharatnatyam or classical music forms. Today Guru (Master) of those forms are not there but it’s up to their disciples or their children to carry forward this beautiful art and I feel Government of India also support them in preserving that culture”.

The dancer-cum-actress, who is also a BJP politician Hema Malini presenting Synergy 2017, an international cultural festival, showcasing a unique confluence of Georgian dance ballet Sukhishvili and various Indian dance forms. Through this festival, Hema Malini will be promoting lot of young artists from all over the India who will perform classical dance forms of India. The festival will be held in Mumbai, New Delhi, Chennai and Kolkata.
