Mumbai: Bollywood superstar Akshay Kumar and entrepreneur Raj Kundra have partnered to launch Best Deal TV, a celebrity-driven 24/7 Home shopping Channel. Best Deal TV is the first celebrity-driven TV Commerce channel in India and has inked endorsement deals with major A-list celebrities and top TV stars in the country.
Insiders now reveal that the channel is also looking to raise funds for various foundations and social organizations and will initiate conversations with celebrities, to auction a few of their personal items, to generate these funds.
Sources reveal that to start off ,co-partner Akshay Kumar will be auctioning a few pieces from his wardrobe on the channel, proceeds of which will go towards an NGO which works for orphan children.
When contacted confirmed Raj Kundra, “If we get a good response, every month we will try and put out new things for auction. We are also planning to add other personalised merchandise of different celebrities if things go as planned”.
