Mumbai: Vikram Singh, who was last seen playing the main protagonist in Vishesh Films release ‘Ya Rab’, will be seen next in another big project and will be essaying the role of the antagonist in Tiger Shroff’s launchpad ‘Heropanti’, which is being produced by Sajid Nadiadwala and directed by Sabbir Khan. Singh, who will play a loud Rowdy Haryanvi Jat character named Rajjo Fauji in the film, claims that his character is more of an anti-hero than a downright villain. “I also have a romantic track with the female lead and me and Tiger will be seen clashing for the heroine in the film,” says Singh.
Singh was auditioned for the role by director Sabbir Khan himself and Singh, who was busy shooting for a South flick in Hyderabad, flew down to Mumbai for a day for the auditions. “After three auditions, I was selected for the role of Rajjo Fauji,” informs Vikram,
Usually, actors take the help of professionals to get their accent and diction right for a role. However, for Heropanti, Vikram Singh invited his Haryanvi Jat pals on the sets to help him wit the mannerisms and diction of Haryanvis. “I have a few Jat pals and I took their help while playing my character. Their inputs were quite helpful and helped me play the role effectively.”
Interestingly, Vikram, who has trained as a boxer in New Zealand a few years back, plays a boxing champion in the film. “Playing a boxing champ came real easy to me as I have learned boxing and was quite familiar with the sport, which was helpful during my action scenes.”
