Mumbai: Queen kick-starts proceedings with a Delhi-waala wedding sequence. The environs were important and would add their own sets-appeal too.
Vintee Bansal, production designer and art designer, who crafted the sets of the film says, “The brief was that I had to show the wedding in progress and it wasn’t meant to be shown as a set that was completely ready.”
For Bansal, a graduate in Interior Designing from Delhi University, Queen is one more feather in her cap, with a filmography that includes Warning and Fugly.
Queen details the life and times of a small-town Indian girl, who decides to go on her honeymoon alone… owing to a twist of Destiny! Queen premiered at the Busan Film Festival in October 2013 and won rave reviews too.
Presented by Viacom 18 Motion Pictures, Queen is a Phantom Production. The Kangana Ranaut-starrer is directed by Vikas Bahl, and produced by Viacom18 Motion Pictures, Vikramaditya Motwane & Anurag Kashyap. Queen, which also stars Rajkummar Rao and Lisa Haydon, is slated to illumine screens, come March 7, 2014.
