This year’s most awaited film, ’83’ scheduled for a theatre release

Due to the corona pandemic taking over the entire country, the release date of the film has been moved to December.

Filmmaker Kabir Khan’s upcoming sports drama, ’83’ is one of the most awaited films of the year 2020. It will star Ranveer Singh as the legendary cricketer Kapil Dev and revolve around team India’s first win at the 1983 cricket world cup.

The release of the film was initially scheduled for 10 April 2020. But due to the coronavirus gravely affecting the entertainment industry, all shoots, film released, post-production work had to be stoped to ensure health safety. A while ago, the rumour mill was kicked into high gear that the film can possibly be digitally released on OTT platforms. But one of the stars of the film, newcomer Tahir Raj Bhasin has confirmed that the film will release in theatres.

Bhasin spoke about the forthcoming film and said, ” It’s a period film and not a film that is going to age. It”s an incredibly relevant story. So, whenever it does come out, it will make a great impact. I was moved by the experience of working in the film as well as the nostalgia and its scale. I am so glad that people are going to experience that in a theatre.” Tahir will be seen portraying the role of Sunil Gavaskar in the movie.

’83’ will also feature a huge star cast including Pankaj Tripathi, Harrdy Sandhu, Jiiva, Ammy Virk, Saquib Saleem, Chirag Patil, Sahil Khattar and Adinath Kothare in significant roles.
