The trailer for the anticipated J Jayalalithaa biopic known as Thalaivi just got dropped today. Actress Kangana Ranaut has played the role of the protagonist in it. The trailer got launched on the occasion of the actress’ birthday. It also released a day after her win as the ‘Best Actress’ at National Film Awards.
As Kangana geared up for trailer release, on her Twitter handle she shared some behind the scenes hard work she put up to make the film happen. One of her posts said, “One day to go for the trailer launch of #Thalaivi

The film will focus on the like of J Jayalalithaa an actress who entered the world of politics and how she made it big there. Thalaivi has been directed by AL Vijay while Vishnu Vardhan and Shailesh R Singh are the producers. The film will also star Arvind Swami as MG Ramachandran, Prakash Raj as M Karunanidhi, Jisshu Sengupta as Sobhan Babu and Bhagyashree as Jayalalithaa’s mother Sandhya.

It was also pointed out that Thalaivi is going to be the very first women-centric pan-Indian film. It is all set for a theatrical release on 23 April 2021.
