Filmmaker Omung Kumar has revealed that he will be making a biopic on the life of Fauja Singh, the world’s oldest marathon runner. It will be called ‘Fauja’. The film is going to be adapted from a book written by Kushwant Singh titled ‘Turbaned Tornado’. Omung Kumar has previously directed biopics like ‘Mary Kom’ and ‘Sarbjit’.
He revealed the news by sharing a picture of himself on his social media with Raaj Shaandilya and Kunal Shivdasani. They will act as producers for the film. His post said, “So here it is, our new venture Film – #FAUJA. A story I always felt proud of is finally going to be my directorial project. Feels great to join hands with like minded people to produce a film that shall bring to life the Greatest Human Story ever told on the BIG screen. Fauja Singh is currently 108 years old. He took the world by a storm by breaking a lot of records in multiple age brackets when he ran marathons. He made his debut in 2000 at London Marathon.
