The wait is finally over, the trailer of ‘A Suitable Boy’ dropped recently! Based on a novel written by Vikram Seth, ‘A Suitable Boy’ is an upcoming series, directed by Mira Nair, a celebrated filmmaker.
The story revolves around 4 large families and a mother’s efforts to find ‘a suitable boy’ for her daughter to marry.
Apart from the straight-to-the-point plot, the sizzling chemistry between Bollywood newbie, Ishaan Khattar and evergreen actress Tabu is very apparent in the trailer.
Rumour has it that Khattar turned down as many as 9 projects before finally saying yes to this Mira Nair directorial. It was apparently Tabu’s persuasion that led Ishaan to sign up for the role. He will be seen playing a vibrant young man from a well to do family, smitten by an older and rather scurrilous woman, played by Tabu.
It has been revealed by some sources that the only reason the steamy scenes within the upcoming series turned out to be so special, is because of the ‘Maqbool’ actress putting Ishaan at complete ease.
However, actress Tanya Maniktala, who has previously starred in various web series and shows has been assigned the lead within the upcoming show. In the trailer, her performance was completely overshadowed by the engaging chemistry by the aforementioned couple. Let’s hope that doesn’t happen in the actual show.
