As International Daughters Day fast approaches us , one of Bollywood’s most sought after singers ,Kanika Kapoor,has kept her professional commitments on hold for a bit, to participate in something special that celebrates the girl child.
Kanika has lent her voice to a song titled “Beti” which propagates the message of protecting, nurturing and cherishing the girl child. The inspirational song is from a documentary film titled “Tara…In Search of Stolen Stars”, based on human trafficking and sex trade in India and the implication of gender bias.
Written and composed by the film’s director Tannishtha Sarkar, Beti, rendered in the powerful voice of Kanika Kapoor ,hopes to move and sensitize audiences to the need of the hour.
Says Kanika Kapoor, “When I heard about the song I immediately wanted to be a part of it . As a mother of 2 beautiful girls , Daughters Day is a special occasion to me and the cause of the girl child will always remain close to my heart”.
