Mumbai: Having recently bagged her second National award, the industry’s dark horse, Kangana Ranaut is back to impress in yet another game changing performance, or should we say “two”, in Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions’ Tanu Weds Manu Returns.
Directed by Aanand L Rai of Tanu Weds Manu and Raanjhanaa fame, the sequel of the 2011 blockbuster titled “Tanu Weds Manu Returns” , will see Kangana reprising her role as Tanu and also essaying the role of Datto – a Haryanvi athlete ,representing two completely different ,quirky personalities.
Talking about both these characters and their significance to the film says director-producer Aanand L Rai, “India is possibly the only country which is home to two different worlds – one which is forward thinking and lives in the metropolitan cities and the other who is fighting a battle every single day of their lives in small towns and villages. Both Tanu and Datto are completely different personalities in every sense .Juxtaposing these two characters coming from different classes ,with different ideologies in the film ,touches on layers of both these worlds while continuing to entertain .Tanu Weds Manu Returns will leave you with a tear and a smile – it is an honest , unadulterated family entertainer”.
Says Kangana – “The double role in Tanu Weds Manu Returns has tested me as an actor and if the audience accepts it, I’d consider it my biggest achievement as an artist.”

Eros International & Colour Yellow Productions’ Tanu Weds Manu Returns is scheduled to release 22nd May.
