Mumbai: Powerhouse actress Vidya Balan who has always endorsed natural textiles and the small scale handloom industry, today made an impromptu visit to the farmers market in Bandra,Mumbai.
Vidya and her sister decided to visit the handloom and handicraft market in the suburbs ,where the weavers and farmers themselves sit at the stalls and sell their produce.
Visitors , the farmers and artisans were in for a pleasant surprise to see the actress take personal interest in every stall and interact with them minus any starry airs.
When contacted said Vidya, “It was an absolute delight to see the work here at the farmers’ market . I think its a great concept and allows visitors to interact with the farmers and artisans directly and understand the work that goes behind everything that is up for sale here”.
