The White Tiger leads the BAFTA awards longlist with nominations in 7 categories!

BAFTA Awards released its longlist of nominations and The White Tiger has led in 7 different categories.

After garnering acclaim from the audience as well as critics, recently released film The White Tiger is soaring to new heights. British Academy of Film and Television Arts Awards or BAFTA Awards released its longlist of nominations and the film has led it by being selected for 7 various categories.

The nominations were in the category of Best Film, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay, Best Leading Actor for Adarsh Gourav, Best Supporting Actress for Priyanka Chopra, Best Cinematography and Best Editing.

From the longlist, only 5 performances will further get selected for the final round of the awards which will be hosted on 11 April 2021.

Priyanka Chopra’s cousin and actress Parineeti Chopra took to her Twitter handle to share this honour while congratulating her sister. She tweeted the picture containing the names of the nominated people while mentioning, “Ladies and gentlemen MEET MY BAFTA LONGLIST SISTER! I meaaaaan Can’t wait for this to happen!”

Although The White Tiger was an American film, it has been recognised for the south Asian representation within their cast. It tells the story of the socio-economic difference that rules the society we live in.  It starred Adarsh Gourav, Rajkummar Rao and Priyanka Chopra in crucial roles and released on Netflix.
