Mumbai: Alt Entertainment’s Ragini MMS-2, featuring Sunny Leone in the lead, took a thunderous opening at the domestic box office.
In its opening weekend, the HORREX (Horror & Sex) feature, produced on a modest budget, netted Rs. 24.50 cr. (Fri – 8.43 cr, Sat – 7.29 cr, Sun – 8.78 cr.) making it the third biggest opener of 2014.
The opening was even bigger than some of the films with a bigger budget and cast, released earlier this year.
Despite important cricket matches on Friday and Sunday, the film maintained its steam and strong word of mouth in the multiplexes and single screens alike.
