Amazing news has arrived that revealed that Kollywood feature ‘Soorarai Pottru’ has entered the Oscars race within the eligibility list under the category of Best Film and Best Actor. Sudha Kongara directed the film, starring superstar Suriya and Aparna Balamurali playing key roles. The production house of Soorarai Pottru announced the news through their Twitter handle.

Soorarai Pottru was based on a real-life story of the CEO of Air Deccan, G. R. Gopinath. Whose aim was to make a low-cost airline which is accessible to all. The film is now one of the 366 films eligible for the final list of nominations at the 2021 Oscar Awards.
The film also starred Paresh Rawal, Urvashi, Mohan Babu, Karunas, Vivek Prasanna in other significant roles. The film had its digital release on the streaming platform Amazon Prime Video last year.
