Actor-producer Sohum Shah, renowned for his roles in Tumbbad, Dahaad, and Maharani, has officially announced that the much-anticipated sequel to Tumbbad is underway.
Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Sohum posted images of himself immersed in the script for Tumbbad 2. Surrounded by stacks of notes and drafts, the pictures indicate that the screenplay is already taking shape. Captioning the post, “Ha, Tumbbad pe hi kaam kar raha hun,” Sohum set social media abuzz with excitement, reigniting anticipation for the sequel.
Although an official release date is yet to be announced, Sohum’s confirmation reassures fans that the sequel is steadily moving forward.

The original Tumbbad (2018), directed by Rahi Anil Barve, is hailed as a milestone in Indian cinema, blending elements of horror, fantasy, and mythology into a visually stunning narrative. Set in 1918, the film follows Vinayak Rao, a man consumed by greed as he seeks a hidden treasure tied to an ancient goddess and her cursed legacy.
