1. Shreya Ghoshal

Shreya emerged in the music industry after winning the singing reality show ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’. Supreme filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali took notice of her and let her debut with songs like ‘Dola Re Dola’, ‘Morey Piya’, ‘Chalak Chalak’, ‘Bairi Piya’ and ‘Silsila Ye Chahat Ka’ in his film Devdas. She was last seen voicing the song ‘Taare Gin’ from the film Dil Bechara (2020).

2. Sonu Nigam

Sonu Nigam is regarded as the ‘Lord of the Chords’. The first song to officially release in his career was ‘O Aasman Wale’ from Aaja Meri Jaan (1992). He sang for many Bollywood films in the years to come. He is also a recipient of 1 National Award, 2 Filmfare Awards and 2 Filmfare Awards South. The latest song he sang was for the filmĀ  ‘Khuda Haafiz’ and was titled ‘Aakhri Kadam Tak’.

3. Mohit Chauhan

Mohit was initially part of an Indian Band called the ‘Silk Route’ that he formed with Kem Trivedi and Kenny Puri. They received prominence through their 1998 album ‘Boondein’ that contained hit songs like ‘Pehchan’ and ‘Dooba Dooba’. His debut as a Bollywood playback singer was from the song ‘Pehli Nazar Mein Dari Thi’ from Road. He was last featured in the song from Dil Bechara titled ‘Taare Gin’ composed by A.R. Rahman.

KK is one of the most prominent singers from the Indian music industry. Believe it or not, before emerging into the Bollywood industry as a blackback singer he had voiced as much as 3,500 jingles in 11 languages in 4 years! He had a smashing breakthrough when debuted as a singer in Bollywood through the song ‘Tadap Tadap’ from Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam. As of 2020, he lent his voice for the recently released film Sadak 2 for songs like, ‘Dil Ki Purani Sadak’, ‘Shukriya (Reprise)’, ‘Purani Sadak (Reprise)’.

5. Shalmali Kholgade

She made her smashing debut as the lead singer in 2012 song ‘Pareshaan’ from the film Ishaqzaade. The song was hugely praised by the audience and the critics and topped the music charts for the longest time. It also earned her a Filmfare award for Best Female Playback Singer that year. She further sang songs like ‘Aga Bai’ ‘Balam Pichkari’, ‘Lat Lag Gayee’, ‘Daru Desi’, and so on. Recently she sang for the song ‘Jinkuya’ from the film Vijeta. She also released her solo ‘Kalle Kalle’ in February 2020.

He is known to be one of the most versatile singers of the industry for singing in genres like pop, jazz, ghazals, hip hop, rock and so on. Shaan has also been honoured with many titled like ‘the golden voice of India’, ‘Magician of Melody’. He has many successful albums before he kickstarted his playback singing career in Bollywood with Loveology, Tanha Dil, Aksar and Tishnagi and so on. His first Bollywood song was ‘Musu Musu Hasi’ from the film ‘Pyaar Mein Kabhi Kabhi.’ He recently voiced the song ‘Tujhe Rab Mana’ from Baaghi 3.

7. Alka Yagnik

Alka Yagnik has had a career in the singing industry that has spanned for more than 3 decades. She debuted into Bollywood with her song ‘Thirkat Ang’ from the film Payal Ki Jhankaar (1980) and sang several hit songs like ‘Ek Do Teen’, ‘Aapke Pyaar Mein’, ‘Gazab Ka Hai Din’, ‘Gali Mein Chand Nikla’. She again gained prominence from the song ‘Agar Tum Sath Ho’ from 2015 film Tamasha. In 2020 she sang the song ‘Gori Godh Bhari’ composed by AR Rahman for the film 99 songs.
