From the makers of successful family entertainers – Raanjhanaa, Tanu Weds Manu Returns and Happy Bhag Jayegi, comes another quirky entertainer, Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, featuring Ayushmann Khurrana as the ‘not-so-hot’ Mudit Sharma, and Bhumi Pednekar as the ‘not-so-cool’ Sugandha Joshi, in Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions’ Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan takes you to the practical side of romance as Mudit and Sugandha enter into an awkward period between engagement and marriage.

Producers Aanand L Rai and Krishika Lulla join forces yet again for a hatke entertainer, directed by R S Prasanna. Post the success of Dum Laga Ke Haisha,
Ayushmann and Bhumi’s successful jodi reunites for Aanand L Rai’s Shubh Mangal Saavdhan.

In a unique move, the trailer of Shubh Mangal Saavdhan launched today witnessed a stand-up comedy by leading artists Jeeveshu and Punya Arora related to the movie theme.

India’s funniest comedians showed Mudit and Sugandha how to ‘stand up’ for their love with some crazy stand-up comedy and also discussed the problems faced by couples before and post marriage including anxieties before the first night, among several other issues.

Said Producer Aanand L Rai, “As a conservative society, we tend to hide a lot of things from each other. So the idea was to create something through the form of cinema that would help us open as individuals and talk about issues that we face in our everyday lives. Shubh Mangal Saavdhan is a quirky entertainer to be enjoyed by the entire family.”

On the occasion said producer Krishika Lulla, “At Eros International, we are always interested in working with a fantastic team of talented writers, filmmakers and actors. Working with K S Prasanna has been an amazing experience. I’ve seen the original Tamil movie Kalyana Samayal Saamdham directed by him and really liked his story-telling style.”

Shubh Mangal Saavdhan, produced by Eros International and Colour Yellow Productions and directed by R S Prasanna, releases September 1, 2017.
