Mumbai: Actor Pernia Qureshi, who will soon make her acting debut in Bollywood with Muzaffar Ali’s Jaanisaar, is first and foremost a Kathak and Kuchipudi dancer. Pernia, who’s also a stylist, entrepreneur, author and designer, paid tribute to her guru Raja Radha Reddy at an annual programme held at the Kamani auditorium in Delhi, recently.
From beginners to more established artistes, Reddy’s disciples paid rich tributes to their Guru through their performances including Naveen Jindal’s wife Shallu and Pernia, who has been training under Reddy for a long time and has contributed towards contemporizing the classical dance form. Pernia, who put up an eight minute segment with a focus on ‘abhinaya’ spoke to the diarist hours before her stage appearance.
