Mumbai: Vidya Balan is known for her penchant for ethnic wear, especially saris. The versatile actress is now keen to learn more about their creation and promote indigenous textiles.
Vidya, who visited Madhya Pradesh recently to promote her film Humari Adhuri Kahani, was approached by the textile ministry of the state to grace their prestigious exhibition to be held in Mumbai promoting Crafts and Weaves from remote areas of the state including traditional Chanderi, Maheshwari, silk saris, dress material, jewellery and khadi products among several others.
A source informs, “Vidya loves saris and is interested in textiles..Shes been planning to visit the looms in Maheshwar and thats when she received this request so She agreed to attend the event in the presence of Cultural Affairs Minister, Vinod Tawde.”
