Lakme Fashion Week closing ceremony: Athiya Shetty and Mrunal Thakur slay at the event

Two gorgeous ladies from the film industry i.e. Athiya Shetty and Mrunal Thakur were present to rule the runway and give the show a proper farewell.

For the first time ever, the Lakme Fashion Week was hosted digitally because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The 5th day of the event marked the closing ceremony of one of the biggest fashion events of the nation. Two gorgeous ladies from the film industry i.e. Athiya Shetty and Mrunal Thakur were present to rule the runway and give the show a proper farewell.

Athiya became the show stopper for Aisha Rao, whose collection featured Indian outfits with a touch of Australia’s flora such as tamarillos, madonna lilies, banksias, gum nuts and so on. It was inspired by the artwork of Criss Canning. The collection is called ‘Pastiche’. Athiya was seen in a beautiful red coloured lehenga which complimented her tall frame a lot.

Meanwhile, Mrunal Thakur walked for two collections i.e. Saaksha and Kinni and Rimzim Dadu. Saaksha and Kinni’s collection went heavy on Banjara embroidery and offered a beautiful display of prints. The collection was called ‘ ‘Gor – The gypsies of India’. Mrunal featured an amalgamation of colours like green, yellow and blue as she took over the stage for the designer duo.

Whereas, Rimzim Dadu’s collection showcased textiles and fabrics which have been re-engineered and also metallic chords. Some geometric patterns were also present in her grand finale slot which featured a 16 piece capsule collection. She explored the monochromatic theme through her range. Mrunal was made part of showcasing the collection as she took the stage while showing off a silvery attire.
