Mumbai: Popular Director-producer Aanand L Rai who has fast become synonymous with desi-romances and his love for exploring entertainers that capture finer nuances of Indian culture , has worked his magic on the silver screen yet again !
Rai’s Tanu Weds Manu Returns, the sequel of the 2011 blockbuster has shattered all records this year . The film starring Kangana Ranaut and R.Madhavan collected an approximate 62.95 crore nett in India in less than a week,making it 2015’s first bonafide blockbuster.
Celebrations are on the cards for the director-producer as this victory makes it Aanand L Rai’s third success in a row. Rai has had a dream run at the box office as Tanu Weds Manu went on to become the sleeper blockbuster of 2011, followed by the Dhanush- Sonam Kapoor starrer Raanjhanaa that went on to enter the highly coveted 100 crore club.
As Tanu Weds Manu Returns released last Friday, the family entertainer too looks to be inching in the same direction (crossed 80 crore mark worldwide), making this a hattrick for Aanand L Rai !
The film not only opened to rave reviews from the audiences and critics alike but also created a splash at the box office,as it continues to rake in the moolah.
