Mumbai: While writer Pubali Chaudhri has responded to Abhishek Kapoor’s case filed against the copyright issue of Rock On2, claiming that she has solely worked on the script of the sequel of the 2008 blockbuster , the film industry continue to remain shocked with her statements against the filmmaker.
Says a source close to the development, ” It is shocking that Pubali is making allegations against Abhishek Kapoor especially since he has never shied away from encouraging new talent .Abhishek launched Sushant Singh Rajput, Rajkumar Rao and Amit Sadh who were all newcomers at the time and promoted them over himself . What’s even funnier ,is that despite receiving her credit as
a co-writer in Rock On and sceenplay credits in Kai Po Che,Pubali is making baseless allegations and has done this in the past with other filmmakers like Mohit Suri.” The industry source also reveals that , “While Abhishek’s decision to not direct the sequel of Rock On! stemmed out of creative differences with Excel ,he is still a co-writer of the script .He has proved his mettle with Kai Po Che which was outside of the Excel banner and hence the strong industry support. While Pubali continues to speculate, Abhishek is taking a dignified stand and not reacting to her statements and is waiting for the court to take a fair decision”.
