He said, “Today there are considerable financial incentives for preserving motion pictures and television programs and we have an obligation to restore and preserve aging films, not just commercial titles, for future generations. Film reports are important for cinema as they help in better preservation of the cinema reels through digital technology. India does not need digital preservation as reels are more long-lasting than digital and guarantees more preservation space than digital. Personally I prefer the nitrate print of Casablanca than the new version since the old print has a more intense print. It is a great opportunity to get involved with audience at IFFI and interact with industry people.”
