However, we are hoping that ‘Laxmii’ will have its own way of staying distinct as the film will especially be curated for the Bollywood crazed audience.

Notable director Raghava Lawrence is known for his horror-comedy films in the South Indian film industry. He has now made his debut in Bollywood as a director through the upcoming film ‘Laxmii’. The new film is a remake of one of his previous Tamil films titled ‘Kanchana’ belonging to the ‘Muni’ franchise, which are all directed by him.

This is not the first time Akshay Kumar will be starring in the horror-comedy genre as one of his previous films titled ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa’ dealt with ghosts too. It garnered a lot of appreciation.

Akshay Kumar stars in this upcoming horror comedy as a commoner who gets possessed by a transgender ghost. In Kanchana, it was director Raghava Lawrence himself who played the lead role. However, we are hoping that the Hindi remake will have its own way of staying distinct as the film will especially be curated for the Bollywood crazed audience.

Since the trailer dropped a few months ago for this Hindi adaptation, it is too soon to judge how the film will play out in front of the audience. But people have been quite impressed with the little glimpse they got of Akshay as Laxmii, it is still a mystery how he will essay his role.

In one of his interviews, the actor had mentioned how this was one of the most mentally intensive roles he had played in his entire career. Meanwhile, Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana has a huge fan following in the south as people claim he managed to perfectly blend the horror essence with a touch of comedy and also had an important social message for its viewers.

Fans are undoubtedly quite excited to see how this amazing collaboration will work out between Raghava Lawrence and Akshay Kumar.  Laxmii is scheduled for an OTT release and will stream on Disney+ Hotstar from 9 November 2020 7:00 pm.
