Imtiaz Ali’s masterpiece Tamasha has completed 5 whole years on this day. Starring Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, Tamasha was an exceptional tale of finding oneself and coming to terms with the wrath of the society that makes someone into something that they don’t want to be.
In order to celebrate this day, Deepika Padukone paid a sweet tribute to the film by changing her icon to the poster of the film and naming herself ‘Tara’ on all her social media handles. It was the name of her character in the film.

Here's to the moment that made us Ved.
Here's to the moment that made us Tara.
And here's to the one that once said, "You're what Ved was to Tara, and what Tara is to Ved"#5YearsOfTamasha pic.twitter.com/HuMaM0v5nK— Nikita (@ni_kie_tah_) November 26, 2020

At one point , Tara says, "Mujhe laga theek ho jayega kyunki hamesha theek ho jata hai. But chaar saal ho gaye abhi bhi vohi haal hai"

‘Tamasha’ marked the third collaboration between Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone after ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ and ‘Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani’. The film has gained a cult following amidst the watchers due to the complexity, deep writing and important message it conveys about the society.
