Ranbir Kapoor starrer Sanjay Dutt Biopic has been one of the most awaited films in 2018. Fox Star Hindi’s official Twitter handle announced the Dutt Biopic release date on Friday.
The tweet read, “The no-holds-barred story of Sanjay Dutt, directed by @RajkumarHirani, #DuttBiopic releasing on June 29! A Fox Star Studios presentation, produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and #RajkumarHirani. #RanbirKapoor”
In June 2017, Fox Star Studios had confirmed 30 March 2018 as the release date of Dutt biopic. But with the same studio bringing ‘Baaghi 2’ on 30 March 2018 Dutt biopic has been rescheduled to 29th June.
In a former media interaction, Ranbir Kapoor said, he hopes not to have failed Sanjay Dutt. “I am a big admirer and fan of Sanju sir. I have had the good fortune of knowing him as a person. I have known him since childhood but when I learned things while shooting for the biopic I thought it can’t be a biopic, it’s not a drama or a romantic film it is a Science fiction film.
To live a life like he has in only one lifetime is something I can’t imagine. I have tried my level best to imitate him. And I hope, I haven’t failed him.” he added.
The film cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal as Sunil Dutt, Manisha Koirala as Nargis, Dia Mirza as Manyata Dutt, Sonam Kapoor as Tina Munim, and Karishma Tanna as Madhuri Dixit.
Directed by Rajkumar Hirani and being produced by Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Hirani, the film’s name still remains a mystery.
