Delhi Crime wins big at this year’s International Emmy Awards!

Delhi Crime became the first web series from India to win an international Emmy.

Popular web series Delhi Crime brought laurels to India as it ended up winning the award for ‘Best Drama Series’ at the 48th International Emmy Awards that got hosted yesterday i.e. 23rd November 2020. As the name suggests, ‘Delhi Crime’ is a crime-drama show that features versatile actors like Shefali Shah, Adil Hussain, Rasika Dugal, and Rajesh Tailang and is based on the repercussions of the 2012 Delhi gang-rape case.

It became the first web series from India to win an international Emmy. The leading lady of the show Shefali Shah who played the role of DCP Vartika Chaturvedi took to her Instagram account to share her reaction at the big win, the video uploaded bu her contains her scream of joy as she realised her show won. The video also featured the director of the show, Richie Mehta’s speech.

Netflix, where the show is officially available for streaming also took to their social media to congratulate the entire team for such a huge milestone that was achieved.

Apart from Delhi Crime, Arjun Mathur’s performance from the show ‘Made In Heaven’ was also nominated in the category (Billy Barratt from Responsible Child, UK won instead). While Amazon Prime Video’s ‘4 More Shots Please’ had also earned a nomination in the award for ‘Best Comedy Series’ (Brazil’s Ninguém Tá Olhando ended up winning).
