Arjun Mathur, Delhi Crime and 4 More Shots Please! earn their nomination at the 2020 International Emmys

The IATAS or the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognise and felicitate the best shows and performances which are produced and aired outside the US in the abovementioned award ceremony.

Many projects belonging to India like ‘Delhi Crime’ by Netflix and Amazon Prime’s ‘Four More Shots Please!’ and also an actor i.e. Arjun Mathur have earned their nomination and will be representing the country at the International Emmy Awards 2020. The IATAS or the International Academy of Television Arts and Sciences recognise and felicitate the best shows and performances which are produced and aired outside the US in the abovementioned award ceremony.

The web series Delhi Crime, helmed by the Indo-Canadian director Richie Mehta was based on the Delhi gangrape-murder case that occurred in 2012 and shocked the entire nation. It also led to many widespread protests and change in the rape laws within the country. The show which was based on the said incident earned itself a nomination in the ‘Best Drama Series’ category.

Meanwhile, Amazon Prime Video’s ‘4 More Shots Please!’ was recognised and got nominated within the ‘Best Comedy’ category. The web series follows the life of 4 fierce and independent women who along with sharing a strong bond are also caught up in their own roller coaster of a life. It stars Maanvi Gagroo, Sayani Gupta, Bani J and Kriti Kulhari in lead roles.

Arjun Mathur got nominated for his portrayal of Karan Mehra in the web series ‘Made in Heaven’ It followed the life of 2 wedding planners running an agency for the same and it’s named ‘Made in Heaven’. What stood out in Mathur’s portrayal was that he played a homosexual man with a complex storyline which made his character arc even more unconventional and authentic. Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti were the creators of the show.

For 2020, there have been 44 nominations in 11 categories from 20 countries. The ceremony will be held at New York City on 23 November 2020.
