This Women’s Day it was proved that it isn’t just Arjun Kapoor walking in heels, as part of the promotions of Ki & Ka, a film about “how genders don’t matter” but also the men of Delhi University, who walked in women’s shoes to make a point about gender parity
Arjun Kapoor who took up the challenging task of not just walking but dancing in 4 inch heels, for the song “High Heels” in the film , and even sported them at a few promotional events ,seems to have inspired the male students of Delhi University ,who wore women’s shoes to highlight gender equality on Women’s Day .
The male members of Education Tree, a group comprising students from various DU colleges, walked in girls’ sandals and heels from Kamla Nagar market to Arts Faculty in North Campus, with some even carrying handbags!
In fact the students hoped that the initiative would bring about a change in the hostel curfew rules as well as set up sexual harassment complaint committees in all colleges.
Said Yashika Bhatia, a student from IP College of Women “In a way , it’s motivating for us as well to have support from men.Such walks also help in getting the community talking about issues that are important and need to be addressed”.
While our films are fast starting to mirror reality, looks like our reel life concepts too seem to be bringing about a positive change in the real world !
Starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Arjun Kapoor , Ki & Ka revolves around two people with contrasting ideologies, unlike the stereotypical hero,the man here is a progressive house husband who lovingly supports his wife’s ambitions as a go-getting career woman.
For all those who think men and women are fools to interchange roles ,this “Foolishq” film is releasing on April Fool’s Day this year.
