Amitabh Bachchan, SHAMITABH, reviews

Mumbai: Eros International & R.Balki’s Shamitabh that released nationwide today has already gone on to impress the critics and industrywallas and going by the early figures ,the entertainer starring Amitabh Bachchan, Dhanush and introducing Akshara Haasan has opened well in prime centres in the country ,given that Bachchan fans eagerly awaited the film that pays tribute to his six-pack voice.

Srijana Mitra Das, (TOI) said, “Shamitabh’s striking story could leave you speechless.”

Taran Adarsh said, “#Shamitabh travels a path rarely travelled. Several poignant moments stay with you.”

Subhash K Jha said, “Nothing prepares you for this astonishing film. It’s absolutely original plot and spellbinding aesthetics make compulsive viewing. The delicacy and dynamism of structure and movement are indicative of Balki’s mastery of the medium. ”

Surabhi Redkar (Koimoi) said, “Shamitabh is a novel idea and needs to be credited for its out of the box idea and presentation. If marveling an interesting plot was any less, Shamitabh raises the bar even higher with stellar performances from Dhanush and Amitabh Bachchan. The film comes with a much-needed fresh script in times of cheap South-Indian masala remakes, once again bringing back our faith in honest and thoughtful writing.”

Rohit Khilnani said, “R Balki holds the story together and keeps you entertained through this two hours and twenty minute film. The concept itself is quite different and works very well. Using Bachchan’s popular voice seems like a brilliant idea.”
