Amitabh Bachchan’s SHAMITABH is the most innovatively marketed film of 2015!

Mumbai: Eros International’s Shamitabh directed by R.Balki starring superstar Amitabh Bachchan, National award winner Dhanush and introducing Akshara Haasan might be a couple of weeks away from its nationwide release, however, the entertainer has emerged the most anticipated film this year.

Shamitabh, that explores a clash of titans has been in the news ever since it was announced and has consistently managed to pique the audiences’ curiosity, courtesy a sharp and innovative marketing and promotional campaign ,helmed by director R.Balki, the expert team of Eros International and the film’s Media Director,Raindrop Media.

Shamitabh first set a benchmark when the audio-teaser took the unconventional route, much like the film itself and chose to introduce audiences to the film via an audio teaser, the first of its kind in the history of Indian cinema.

The makers then launched Shamitabh’s first trailer amidst a packed audience at the historic Eros theatre, bringing in a dash of cinematic old-school magic –

On the music launch, Shamitabh then went all out to celebrate music maestro Ilaiyaraaja’s genius as the recipient of multiple National awards and Padma Bhushan Awards, accomplished a feat that no one in the world has this far ,that of composing music for over a 1000 films !

The magnum opus went down in history as an affair to remember , as it brought the country’s 3 legends Rajnikanth, Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan on the same platform as they facilitated Ilaiyaraaja and his achievements. The star-studded event was attended by the who’s who of the music industry ,with the evening closing with a vote of thanks by Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.

If that wasn’t all, Mr.Bachchan travelled to Ahmedabad to celebrate Makar Sankranti with the locals and co-star Dhanush promoted the film in Chennai – Mr.Bachchan, the voice of the nation then sang the song of the nation ,as he shot the national anthem during the Kolkatta promotional tour.

The marketing and promotional campaign also extends oversees as the team flies to London and Dubai – Says R.Balki, “ Nothing about Shamitabh is conventional and the trailers and movie-centric events are testimony to that. Our aim is to keep audiences guessing and we hope that they come to the theatre to know more”.

Says Taran Adarsh, “The buzz around the film is very good, especially the 2nd trailer created a lot more curiosity for the audiences. The marketing and promotional campaign has been quite unique, even the music launch was the first of its kind to get so many legends together on the same platform”.

Says producer Sunil Lulla, Eros International, “Our attempt with this film is to clearly differentiate it from the rest as it is truly one of a kind…our marketing and promotional campaign too has been strategically planned to pack just the right punch”.

Presented by Eros International, produced by RK Damani, Sunil Lulla ,Gauri Shinde ,Rakesh Jhunjhuwaala and Abhishek Bachchan Shamitabh starring Amitabh Bachchan,Dhanush and Akshara Haasan is scheduled to release February 6th 2015.
