Back in 2020, Akshay Kumar had announced that he will be seen in a new film called ‘Raksha Bandhan’. He had also revealed the first look of the film at the same time. Since then no further announcements for the film had been made until recently. It just got announced that actress Bhumi Pednekar will be seen playing the female lead in the movie.
Rakshan Bandhan is being directed by popular filmmaker Anand L Rai. The announcement regarding the same was made through Akshay Kumar’s social media handle and he also uploaded the picture of himself and Bhumi along with their director, Anand L Rai. The tweet with the post said, “When you are happy, it shows ?

It has also been reported that the shooting for the movie will begin on 15 June 2021. No release date has been confirmed yet.
