Sterling actress Divya Dutta celebrates her b’ day today!

Supremely talented actress, Divya Dutta is celebrating her B’ day today. She ventured into the entertainment industry and began her career by modelling and starring in commercials for a while. It was in 1994 that she made her film debut through Ishq Mein Jeena Ishq Mein Marna. She was later seen in other films too like Surakshaa, Veergali, Agni Sakshi and so on.

She also made her debut in the world of Punjabi cinema through  Shaheed-e-Mohabbat Boota Singh alongside Gurdas Maan. She further starred in films like Samar, Rajaji and Tabahi – The Destroyer in supporting roles. Later on, she also became a part of prominent projects like Bhaghban and LOC Kargil.

It was in 2004 that she received national recognition from the film Veer-Zaara where she starred as Shabbo as she shared screens with Preity Zinta. Her performance was also appreciated critically in the film ‘Umrao Jaan’. Dutta also made her international debut with Arjun Rampal, Amitabh Bachchan and Preity Zinta through ‘The Last Year’ which also won a national award in 2007 for ‘Best Feature Film in English’.

However, her role alongside Farhan Akhtar in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag as Milkha Singh’s sister was one of the most loved, leading her to get multiple nominations at various award functions.

She also became a National Awardee through her portrayal of a state CM, Ramandeep Braitch, in the 2018 film Irada as the Best Supporting Actress.

Some of her recent work includes films like Fanney Khan, Manto, Music Teacher and Ram Singh Charlie. She will also be seen in the Indian LGBT romance film titled ‘Sheer Qorma’ soon.
