Bollywood actor Pankaj Tripathi is one of the very few exceptionally talented personalities who makes acting look so effortless and authentic. He is celebrating his birthday today.  He hails from Bihar and worked as a farmer until he decided to follow his passion to pursue acting. A graduate of National School of Drama, his first-ever acting job was an uncredited role in the 2004 film Run.

It was in 2012 that he garnered attention through his portrayal of Sultan Quereshi in the Gangs of Wasseypur series by Anurag Kashyap. He, later on, starred in films like Fukrey, Masaan, Dilwale, Nil Battey Sannata, Gurgaon, Bareilly Ki Barfi and so on.

His portrayal in the film ‘Newton’ also earned him a National Award and the film was also selected as India’s official entry to the Best International Feature Film category at the Academy Awards (Oscars).

Pankaj has also emerged into the digital space through the widely popular series Mirzapur and will soon be seen in its second season as well. He has also starred in web series like Sacred Games and Criminal Justice.

The current year i.e. 2020 has been a great year for the actor as he made his international debut through the film ‘Extraction’ starring Chris Hemsworth which got released on Netflix. His character Anup Saxena in the film ‘Gunjan Saxena: The Kargil Girl’ also received widespread praise.
