1. Phenomenal acting skills

One of the lesser-known facts about the actor is that by the time he turned 30, he had 12 flops to his name. But his ‘never-give-up’ attitude is what led him to success. He gained popularity through his ‘angry young man’ character through Prakash Mehra’s Zanjeer in 1973. To this date, it is considered one of the most iconic roles from the Indian cinema. He, later on, gave smashing blockbuster hits like Deewar, Sholay, Trishul, Kaala Patthar, Shakti, etc and never looked back.

2. Prominence in the TV industry

Amitabh Bachchan is one of the very few mega-celebrities to have been consistent in the television industry. It all began during the early 2000s when he started hosting the show ‘Kon Banega Crorepati’. The quiz based reality show became quite popular among households and was proved to be a family entertainer made for everyone, be it young or old. The public appreciated the format of the show owing to its ability to increase general knowledge among viewers. He is still hosting the show in 2020 in its 12th season.

Bachchan is also recognised within the industry for his deep and intense voice. In his career, he has also acted as a narrator, presenter and playback singer for many projects. Exceptional filmmaker Satyajit Ray was so impressed by the power of the star’s voice that he asked him to portray the role of a narrator in his film, ‘Shatranj Ke Khiladi’. Big B has been associated with many social causes throughout the years. During the polio Eradication Campain in 2002, he was made a goodwill ambassador of UNICEF. He has also donated as much as  ₹2.5 million to a charitable trust known as Plan India, working for the betterment of young girls and ₹1.1 million to MPWF (Maharastra Police Welfare Fund). He has also been associated with the conservation of tigers through the ‘Save Our Tigers’ campaign. In recent time, he also became the face to promote the govt. oriented message regarding COVID-19 and how to take safety measures to avoid it.

5. Recipient of many prestigious awards

He has 4 National Awards and Dadasaheb Phalke Award for lifetime achievement. So far, he has also won 15 Filmfare Awards. In 1984, he also got awarded the Padma Shri, the Padma Bhushan in 2001 and Padma Vibhushan in 2015 for his impeccable contributions to the Indian Cinema. The French Govt. has also honoured the star with Knight of the Legion of Honour, which is the country’s highest civilian honour.
